Supporting Young Learners

May 7, 2014

Having been based in Basingstoke coming up to our thirtieth year, the community plays a big part in who we are as a company. Many of our people live, have grown up and learned locally.

So, we always like to get involved with community projects that help give young people the opportunity to learn, have fun and experience things that help build important skills for the future.

With that in mind, earlier in the year we decided to support BCOT Motorsport learners with a sponsorship package for their Toyota MR2 Race Team to help them through the 2014 season.

Skilz Managing Director Ian Squires said:

This is a great opportunity for the young engineers at the college to experience teamwork in an exciting and dynamic sport and we wish them every success during 2014.

The team have seven race meetings over the next six months including Brands Hatch and Silverstone and the cars are showing promising signs. Lee Wilson, who heads the team at BCOT is confident about success for 2014:

We have already taken our two MR2s on a track day at Brands Hatch and they are showing promising lap times. All members of the team are motivated and excited about the upcoming race season.

You can find out more and follow the Toyota MR2 Race Team on the BCOT website.
